Stuck in the office this Halloween? Here are some great ways to celebrate at work while also helping out some charities.

Halloween Decorations  

Start a collection among staff who want to take part, have a Halloween decorations competition with the winner getting to pick the charity of their choice for the collection. The decorations can be common office items like making ghosts from old discarded paper or cutting out spider webs from old paper and putting them on windows. Let your creativity take you to spooky places.

Costume Day

Fair enough, this one only works in certain types of businesses but where possible this week why not make one of the days a fancy dress day with (you guessed it) the winner getting to pick the charity of their choice for the collection. Every participating employee brings in €2 (or whatever they feel comfortable donating) and just like that you’ve created something fun in the office while still helping others.

Treats

This is a good one for the day after Halloween. We’d say it happens the majority of households around the country; we buy too many sweets and don’t have enough Trick-or-treaters calling so we end up with a lot of leftover goodies. How about this year instead of eating them all as you watch the Late Late, everyone brings them into the office and setup a collection area? Instead of using that vending machine you leave some change and take a sweet every time you feel like a sugar pick-me-up. When everything is gone you donate the cash to the charity that means the most to you and your company.
