5 office life hacks
We all have our own little way of doing things but with these simple little office life hacks you can improve mood, cleanliness, comfort and even productivity.
Clean Your Keyboard
When cleaning a keyboard try Canned Air to safely remove food and dirt from individual keys. Cleaning wipes over time can damage the keys and wipe off the lettering. Canned air is definitely the safer and preferred way to clean items like keyboards, screens and computers.
Use your fan correctly
A common myth we hear a lot is that a fan left on will cool a room, it’s sadly not true. The only way you will get any benefit from a fan is to focus it against the perspiration that’s on your body in order to cool you down. Sitting in front of a fan is the best method to keep cool…unless you have an air conditioner of course.
Monitor arms
Get the correct ergonomic positioning with flexible monitor arms. Once you start using a monitor arm you won’t ever go back and don’t get us started on the ergonomic benefits of monitor arms and height adjustable desks. If you can afford it or if your company offers it to you then take it. The flexibility of monitor arms means you won’t strain your neck or slouch as the screen can be moved to the optimal position for you.
Plants
Studies have shown that simply adding some greenery in the form of indoor plants can have major positive benefits for employees and their organisations. The same goes for remote or home workers, too. Indoor plants are said to help reduce stress which means you are more productive, happier and are breathing cleaner air.
Old CD’s
Many desktop and laptops are now shipping without a disc drive. The days of CD’s are slowly coming to a close. So what should you do with your old CD’s? Well they can be used for a number of things like clocks by adding a clock movement kit. Used to help stop wobbling office furniture or even as a coaster on your desk.
